On 7 April 2023 World Health Day, the World Health Organization will observe its 75th anniversary.
In 1948, countries of the world came together and founded WHO to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable – so everyone, everywhere could attain the highest level of health and well-being.
This year, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of WHO. It is an opportunity to look back at the public health successes that have improved people’s quality of life over the last 7 decades as a result of our dedicated work with governments, communities, international organizations, foundations, advocates, researchers and health workers to advance the health and security of all people.
It is also an opportunity to motivate action to tackle the health challenges of today ̶ and tomorrow.
Over the past 7 decades, WHO, in collaboration with Member States and partners, has been working to overcome major health challenges, implement game-changing initiatives and further achievements to change the lives of billions of people for the better.
