The atmosphere at Lewanika General Hospital was filled with excitement as it hosted a momentous handover ceremony. The event marked the arrival of a new C-Arm X-ray machine, a gift that promised to elevate healthcare services in the region. The Honourable Kapelwa Mbangweta, Minister for the Western Province, attended the occasion with pride, representing the Ministry of Health and the hospital as he graciously accepted the donation.
Standing before the gathering, Honourable Mbangweta received the machine from His Excellency Mr. Pavel Prochaska, the Czech Republic’s Ambassador. With a symbolic gesture, the ambassador handed over the equipment that would soon transform the lives of many in the province.
In his address, the minister expressed deep gratitude to the Czech Republic. He acknowledged not just the C-Arm machine but also previous generous contributions, including two Land Cruiser vehicles, which had already proven invaluable. These gifts, he emphasized, had made a profound impact on the region’s healthcare services, allowing the hospital to serve the communities of Western Province with greater efficiency and care. The C-Arm was another step forward in this journey of improving the well-being of the people.
