The campaigns were fully funded by the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) and implemented in partnership with Niger\u2019s National Eye Health Program (PNSO).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"881\"><strong data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"824\">Impact of the Campaigns<\/strong><br data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"827\" \/>The impact of these three campaigns was significant:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"1157\">\n<li data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"974\">\n<p data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"974\">Vision screening was provided to <strong data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"935\">14,442 people<\/strong>, 61% of whom were over 60 years old.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1075\">\n<p data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1075\">Sight was restored to <strong data-start=\"999\" data-end=\"1017\">1,524 patients<\/strong> (638 women and 876 men) through surgical interventions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1157\">\n<p data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1157\">All operated patients also received post-operative follow-up care and visits.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1549\"><strong data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1181\">Official Reactions<\/strong><br data-start=\"1181\" data-end=\"1184\" \/>Dr. Sabo Hassan Adamou, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health, expressed the Nigerien government\u2019s deep gratitude to the IsDB and AIDA for their <strong>\u201cinvaluable support\u201d<\/strong> to the PNSO, highlighting improvements in both eye health and public health in general. He also reaffirmed the ministry\u2019s willingness to support any future initiatives by the partners.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1551\" data-end=\"1879\">Mr. Oumarou Garba, President of the Older People\u2019s Association of Niger, praised the initiative as a <strong>\u201ctribute\u201d<\/strong> to the millions of citizens who have served the country. He warmly thanked the ministry\u2019s team as well as the IsDB and AIDA for helping thousands of older people regain their sight and access eye care consultations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1881\" data-end=\"2248\"><strong data-start=\"1881\" data-end=\"1905\">Alliance Development<\/strong><br data-start=\"1905\" data-end=\"1908\" \/>Building on the success of the first phase of the Alliance, the IsDB and ISFD announced the launch of a second generation. This new program aims to expand its reach to benefit <strong data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2112\">13 IsDB member countries<\/strong>: Burkina Faso, Chad, Comoros, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Djibouti, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Somalia, and Togo.<\/p>\n        <div class=\"booster-block booster-reactions-block\">\n            <div class=\"twp-reactions-icons\">\n
