La c\u00e9r\u00e9monie s\u2019est tenue au Centre de recherche et de traitement de la dr\u00e9panocytose \u00e0 Bangui, en pr\u00e9sence de repr\u00e9sentants du minist\u00e8re de la Sant\u00e9, de l\u2019Organisation mondiale de la Sant\u00e9 (OMS) et de plusieurs partenaires techniques et financiers.<\/p>\n<p>En R\u00e9publique centrafricaine, la dr\u00e9panocytose repr\u00e9sente un probl\u00e8me majeur de sant\u00e9 publique. On estime qu\u2019environ\u00a0<strong>20 % des enfants n\u00e9s<\/strong>\u00a0chaque ann\u00e9e sont porteurs du trait dr\u00e9panocytaire, et environ\u00a0<strong>2 % naissent<\/strong>\u00a0avec la forme majeure de la maladie. Pourtant, le d\u00e9pistage n\u00e9onatal syst\u00e9matique n\u2019est pas encore en place, et de nombreux enfants sont diagnostiqu\u00e9s tardivement, souvent apr\u00e8s plusieurs \u00e9pisodes de complications s\u00e9v\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>Lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie,\u00a0<strong>Oph\u00e9lia, 31 ans<\/strong>, une patiente vivant avec la dr\u00e9panocytose, a partag\u00e9 son v\u00e9cu avec une grande dignit\u00e9, r\u00e9v\u00e9lant avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 abandonn\u00e9e par son p\u00e8re \u00e0 cause de sa maladie. Son t\u00e9moignage a mis en lumi\u00e8re les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s sociales que vivent encore de nombreux patients dr\u00e9panocytaires et a renforc\u00e9 l\u2019appel \u00e0 plus de compassion, de soutien et de lutte contre la stigmatisation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7267 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/afiyafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/506534070_1330279752439097_2663565823224051968_n-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/afiyafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/506534070_1330279752439097_2663565823224051968_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/afiyafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/506534070_1330279752439097_2663565823224051968_n-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/afiyafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/506534070_1330279752439097_2663565823224051968_n-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/afiyafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/506534070_1330279752439097_2663565823224051968_n.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Prenant la parole, la Premi\u00e8re Dame a lanc\u00e9 un appel fort : <strong>\u00ab Les personnes atteintes de dr\u00e9panocytose ne doivent pas \u00eatre isol\u00e9es ni stigmatis\u00e9es. Notre r\u00f4le est de les soutenir, de les accompagner et de leur permettre de vivre dans la dignit\u00e9. \u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Elle a \u00e9galement rappel\u00e9 son engagement personnel, illustr\u00e9 par la construction d\u2019une nouvelle cuisine au sein du Centre de traitement, afin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer les conditions de s\u00e9jour et d\u2019alimentation des patients hospitalis\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, la\u00a0<strong>Repr\u00e9sentante de l\u2019OMS en RCA, Dr Marie Roseline Darnycka B\u00e9lizaire<\/strong>, a livr\u00e9 un message d\u2019engagement : <strong>\u00ab La dr\u00e9panocytose est une maladie g\u00e9n\u00e9tique grave, mais trop souvent n\u00e9glig\u00e9e. Elle constitue pourtant un v\u00e9ritable probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 publique en R\u00e9publique centrafricaine, o\u00f9 de nombreux enfants en meurent faute de diagnostic pr\u00e9coce et de prise en charge ad\u00e9quate. L\u2019OMS s\u2019engage \u00e0 soutenir les efforts du Gouvernement et des partenaires pour am\u00e9liorer la pr\u00e9vention, le d\u00e9pistage, le traitement et le suivi des personnes vivant avec cette maladie. Nous devons mettre fin \u00e0 la souffrance \u00e9vitable li\u00e9e \u00e0 la dr\u00e9panocytose. Il est temps d\u2019agir, ensemble, pour en faire une priorit\u00e9 nationale. \u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La c\u00e9r\u00e9monie a rassembl\u00e9 les acteurs institutionnels, les professionnels de sant\u00e9, les familles et les partenaires autour d\u2019un objectif commun : mieux comprendre, mieux prendre en charge et mieux accompagner les personnes vivant avec la dr\u00e9panocytose en
