Improving Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition: The Government Aims to Accelerate Implementation of the 2024\u20132027 National Multisectoral Nutrition Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SMART nutrition survey<\/strong> is a standardized and rigorous approach adopted by the government to assess national nutrition policies and adjust interventions to combat malnutrition as part of the National Health Development Plan.<\/p>\n

Following the Council of Ministers<\/strong> held on June 4 in Abidjan<\/strong>, Minister of Communication Amadou Coulibaly<\/strong> emphasized that the government intends to take appropriate measures to accelerate the implementation of the 2024\u20132027 National Multisectoral Nutrition Plan<\/strong>, with the goal of sustainably improving the health and nutrition of mothers and children<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Amadou Coulibaly noted that the Council had adopted a communication relating to the presentation of the preliminary results<\/strong> of the national nutrition survey using the SMART methodology<\/strong> in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire\u2019s 14 administrative districts.<\/p>\n

The survey was conducted from January 6 to February 23, 2025<\/strong>, across the country\u2019s 14 districts. The SMART-CIV 2025 survey results<\/strong> highlight both the progress achieved and the persistent challenges in the area of nutrition.<\/p>\n

The SMART nutrition survey is a standardized and rigorous methodology used by the government to assess national nutrition policies and fine-tune malnutrition intervention strategies within the framework of the National Health Development Plan. The findings notably indicate a relative decrease in undernutrition<\/strong>, although regional disparities<\/strong> remain.<\/p>\n
