ELIJAH MUCHIMA COMMENDS NDOLA TEACHING HOSPITAL\u2019S TRANSFORMATION<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Health Minister Hon. Elijah Muchima toured Ndola Teaching Hospital and expressed his admiration for the enhanced hygiene and organization at the facility. He commended Senior Medical Superintendent Dr. Justo Banda for creating a clean and secure environment for both patients and staff.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One detail that particularly caught Hon. Muchima\u2019s attention was the hospital\u2019s practice of holding daily staff meetings at 7 am in one of the lavatories. Dr. Banda explained that this strategy ensures the lavatory is regularly cleaned and maintained, given its use for these gatherings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Banda also highlighted the significant support the hospital has received from the government and other stakeholders, including The Friends of Ndola Teaching Hospital and the Zambia National Service, which have played key roles in the hospital\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During his visit, Hon. Muchima called on the National Health Research Training Institute to offer more training for young people, with the goal of expanding healthcare knowledge and improving Zambia\u2019s health system.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ndola Teaching Hospital is a tertiary facility serving Northern Zambia with a bed capacity of 850. In 2024, it delivered 8,546 babies and saw a decline in maternal deaths, reducing the number from 36 to 24.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ministry of Health Zambia<\/p>\n        <div class=\"booster-block
