Un Cap-Vert sans paludisme : une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 aujourd’hui.
Le 12 janvier 2024, l’Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 (OMS) a certifi\u00e9 le Cap-Vert comme pays exempt de paludisme. Cette r\u00e9ussite historique est le r\u00e9sultat de d\u00e9cennies d’efforts concert\u00e9s de la part du gouvernement capverdien, des organisations internationales et du peuple capverdien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Cap Vert devient ainsi le 43 \u00e8me pays du monde et le 3\u00e8me pays de la r\u00e9gion africaine de l’OMS apr\u00e8s l’Alg\u00e9rie et l’\u00cele Maurice \u00e0 recevoir cette certification.

Le paludisme \u00e9tait autrefois une maladie r\u00e9pandue au Cap-Vert. En 2000, on estimait que 70 000 cas de paludisme \u00e9taient signal\u00e9s chaque ann\u00e9e. Cependant, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie d’interventions efficaces, le nombre de cas a consid\u00e9rablement diminu\u00e9.

Les principales interventions qui ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l’\u00e9limination du paludisme au Cap-Vert comprennent :

Distribution de moustiquaires impr\u00e9gn\u00e9es d’insecticide

Pulv\u00e9risation intradomiciliaire d’insecticide

Diagnostic et traitement rapides du paludisme<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Sensibilisation du public et \u00e9ducation<\/p>\n\n\n\n


L’\u00e9limination du paludisme au Cap-Vert est une r\u00e9alisation majeure. Cela a un impact positif important sur la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre de la population capverdienne. Cela permettra \u00e9galement de stimuler l’\u00e9conomie du pays en r\u00e9duisant les co\u00fbts des soins de sant\u00e9 et en augmentant la productivit\u00e9.

Le succ\u00e8s du Cap-Vert montre que l’\u00e9limination du paludisme est possible. Cela sert d’inspiration aux autres pays d’Afrique et du monde qui luttent contre cette maladie mortelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selon le Directeur G\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019OMS, cette r\u00e9ussite envoie un message clair : avec une volont\u00e9 politique, un partenariat solide et l’engagement totale de chaque partenaire, l’\u00e9limination du paludisme est possible partout.
